Most scrap yards will require proof of ownership before they will purchase a car and they may also ask for identification from the seller. You will also need to fill out section 9 of the V5C (vehicle registration certificate) and send it to the DVLA. This will tell the DVLA that your car is being scrapped. If you do not have your registration document (logbook) you can still scrap your car. Please follow our guide on Can I scrap my car without a logbook?
