You can notify the DVLA that your vehicle has been scrapped either online or by post. To do this, you’ll need your V5C logbook, your vehicle registration details, and the details of the ATF handling your car.

For online notification, you’ll use the 11-digit reference number from your logbook. You can notify the DVLA by filling in the yellow ‘sell, transfer or part-exchange your vehicle to the motor trade’ section of your V5C. The completed section should then be sent to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BA.
