A scrap car removal service removes unwanted vehicles for recycling. The registration of the car must be surrendered to the recycler in order to cancel the vehicle tax.

Direct Debits for car tax will be automatically cancelled by the DVLA, and any months remaining on the tax will be refunded. A check will be issued and made out to the registered keeper of the vehicle.

If you own the car but are not the registered keeper, you can write or contact the DVLA with proof of your ownership, such as a bill of sale.
